

San Juan, Puerto Rico – June 30, 2026 – Governor Jenniffer González-Colón today announced the obligation of $91,570,050.48 in federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to support the reconstruction of critical infrastructure, road repairs, rehabilitation of municipal facilities, and hazard mitigation projects across multiple municipalities and government agencies throughout Puerto Rico.
"We continue securing the resources needed to transform our infrastructure and strengthen the resilience of our communities. These investments are the result of the coordinated efforts of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA), the Central Office for Recovery, Reconstruction and Resiliency (COR3), and our federal partners, allowing us to accelerate Puerto Rico's recovery," said Governor Jenniffer González-Colón.
As part of this funding package, the Municipality of Lares will receive $6,162,649.86 under Section 324 of the Robert T. Stafford Act to cover Direct Administrative Costs (DAC) associated with Hurricane Maria recovery efforts (FEMA-DR-4339-PR).
The Municipality of Manatí will receive multiple awards totaling $5,535,567.06 under Sections 406 and 428 of the Stafford Act for the repair of public buildings, sports facilities, cemeteries, municipal structures, and other infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Maria.
The Municipality of Arecibo will receive $828,022.22 under Sections 406 and 428 of the Stafford Act for repairs to parks, municipal facilities, and the removal and replacement of disaster-damaged infrastructure.
The Municipality of Jayuya has been awarded multiple projects totaling $289,687.24 under Section 428 of the Stafford Act for infrastructure damaged by Hurricane Maria (FEMA-DR-4339-PR), in addition to supplemental funding under Hurricane Fiona recovery programs that support the municipality's ongoing reconstruction efforts.
The Municipality of Carolina will receive $299,537.53 under Section 406 of the Stafford Act for repairs to sports facilities, lighting systems, fencing, and other municipal infrastructure.
The Municipality of Vega Baja will receive $1,369,207.23 under Section 406 of the Stafford Act for permanent repairs to its Municipal Office of Emergency Management.
The Municipality of Añasco will receive a total of $2,700,000.00 through funding provided under Sections 406 and 428 of the Stafford Act for road repairs and permanent municipal infrastructure projects.
The Municipality of San Juan will receive $112,412.45 under Section 406 of the Stafford Act to repair disaster-damaged municipal facilities.
The University of Puerto Rico (UPR) will receive $3,646,476.85 under Section 428 of the Stafford Act for reconstruction work at its Río Piedras Campus.
The Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) will receive $44,586,216.23 under Section 428 of the Stafford Act for hazard mitigation initiatives and vegetation management projects designed to strengthen the island's electric transmission and distribution system.
The Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (PRASA) will receive $5,101,008.15 under Section 428 of the Stafford Act for the rehabilitation of the Barrancas Water Treatment Plant.
The Puerto Rico Department of Education will receive $7,625,451.15 under Sections 406 and 428 of the Stafford Actfor the repair and hazard mitigation of schools damaged by natural disasters.
Additionally, the Church of God Pentecostal Movement International will receive $5,811,229.61 under Section 406 of the Stafford Act to repair facilities damaged by the 2020 earthquakes (FEMA-DR-4473-PR).
Governor González-Colón reaffirmed that her administration will continue prioritizing the approval and execution of federal funding to accelerate the reconstruction of Puerto Rico's critical infrastructure.
"We will continue working hand in hand with FEMA, PRFAA, and COR3 to ensure these federal resources are translated into tangible projects that are implemented efficiently, transparently, and for the direct benefit of the people of Puerto Rico," Governor González-Colón concluded.
