In an effort to mitigate the impact of the ongoing partial federal government shutdown on employees of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in Puerto Rico, Governor Jenniffer González-Colón, alongside Secretary of the Treasury Ángel L. Pantoja Rodríguez and Executive Director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA) Gabriella Boffelli, announced an extension of the tax filing deadline. This measure is intended to provide relief to qualifying federal employees, allowing them to meet their tax obligations without incurring penalties or interest.
